An 18-year-old repeat offender with eight prior thefts was arrested after snatching a cell phone from a woman in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Boca. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that pedestrians alerted officers from the City Police's Motorized Department that a criminal had stolen a phone from a victim on Patricios Avenue. The perpetrator fled towards Aristóbulo Del Valle in the direction of Admiral Brown Avenue, prompting the officers to pursue and apprehend him. Authorities confirmed that the criminal has an extensive criminal record, having been arrested for theft, robbery, and gang-related crimes since 2022. Police conducted a search of the suspect, recovered the stolen device, and returned it to the victim. The Criminal and Correctional Court No. 63 ordered the detention of the criminal and the seizure of his Yamaha XTZ Lander 250 motorcycle, which had a damaged ignition system and was registered to another person, leading to suspicions that it may have been stolen.
